Dear Class of 2029,
 

Welcome to your new home under the dome at Notre Dame and McGlinn! We are so thrilled to embrace you in the McGlinn community and finally meet you in August. 

 

You are getting ready to enter into the best four years and create bonds that will last forever. From touchdown push ups at football games to late nights at the library, these moments will become memories you’ll carry with you long after graduation. 

 

While college move-in can be a stressful time, our goal is to help in any way that we can! We recognize that you must have loads of questions about life in McGlinn Hall, so we are here to provide you with some answers!

 

By the luck of the Irish, you were chosen to be a part of the biggest and BEST dorm on campus – McGlinn Hall, known as “McG” for short. Here you will find some of your best friends and become a part of the family where we “Act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly” (our dorm motto). Our hall colors – green and white – are proudly on display all over the dorm, along with our mascot, the Shamrock. McGlinn is also home to a wide variety of traditions, the most notable being Casino Night, a night of poker, blackjack and roulette run by Shamrocks. The proceeds from the event go to St. Adalbert’s school in South Bend, a school McGlinn is very closely connected to. Our location on West Quad (the best quad) places us right behind South Dining Hall, a 5 minute walk to the lakes, and right next to McGlinn Fields where we host many events like West Fest.
